What does Rubber Wheels do?

You have a sofa, a fridge, a bike or a dresser bought on a marketplace that needs to get to another town. Someone else is driving there with space in the car. Rubber Wheels brings you together. In the app you say what you are sending, from where to where and when. Drivers whose trip matches your route make an offer. You compare, choose and pay in the app. Your item travels with a person who would have driven that way anyway.

Which countries does the service work in?

Ten countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. A delivery can cross a border when the driver’s trip crosses it. The app is available in 11 languages, so you and the driver can each use your own.

Who is Rubber Wheels for?

For you, if you have something big to move but no trailer, no van and no wish to pay for a trip ordered just for you. And for you, if you have a car, a van or a trailer with empty space on trips you make anyway: the commute, the cabin weekend, a visit to another town. The driver is a private person, not a company. They only take deliveries that fit their own trip, and that is why this works.

What makes up the price?

The price is set case by case, and you see it in the offers made on your own request. There is no fixed price list, because the price is made by drivers who know their own trip. The price depends on the distance, the size and weight of the item, the timing and whether lifting help is needed. And on one thing that sets this apart from everything else: the driver is driving the route anyway, so you are not paying for a trip ordered just for you, you are paying for space in the car. The app and registration are free. Rubber Wheels Oy charges a 15 percent service fee only on completed deliveries, and it is included in the price you accept. You pay in the app through Stripe, and the money is released to the driver only once the delivery has been confirmed. If you cancel, the fee depends on the timing: more than 24 hours before pickup 10 percent, less than 24 hours 30 percent, and 50 percent if the driver has already left for pickup. You always see the amount before you confirm.

How much does a driver earn?

Whatever they offer. Earnings depend on the distance, the size of the item, the timing and how many others are offering on the same delivery. Because you are making the trip anyway, your offer does not have to cover the whole drive, only your effort and your space. Rubber Wheels Oy keeps a 15 percent service fee, and the rest goes to your bank account through Stripe once the delivery has been confirmed.

How is this different from a transport company?

A transport company drives for you, and you pay for the whole trip. A Rubber Wheels driver is driving anyway, and you pay for space in their car. That is the whole idea. Things worth knowing before you order: the driver is a private person with their own car, lifting help is agreed separately, and Rubber Wheels does not sell transport insurance. Check what your home insurance covers or take out separate transport insurance if the item is valuable. What gives you security: both sides rate each other after every delivery, the payment stays with Stripe until the delivery is confirmed, and every report is handled by a person.

How do I start?

Download Rubber Wheels from the App Store or Google Play. Sign up with email, Apple or Google and confirm your phone number. If you have something to send, post a delivery request: it takes a few minutes and the offers arrive in the app. If you have space in your car, browse requests along your own route and make an offer. Same app, same account, either role.

Download Rubber Wheels and post your first request

Posting a request is free. You only pay for the delivery if you accept an offer.
