FAQ about online-marketplace delivery

How much does online-marketplace delivery cost?

Price is decided by auction — drivers bid, you pick the offer that fits. In-city sofa delivery typically €30–80, between cities €80–200 depending on distance and size. Usually 30–50 % cheaper than a traditional removal company because the driver is going your route anyway.

Is online-marketplace delivery safe?

Yes. Drivers are ID-verified via Stripe, all show ratings, and the payment stays secured until you confirm the item has arrived. The driver takes photos at pickup and delivery — the item’s condition is documented.

How quickly is a driver found?

In most cases within minutes or hours. Drivers along the route between pickup and delivery get notified and can bid. You can specify the desired timeline (immediate / within the week / specific date).

Is it only for sofas and fridges?

No — fits anything that doesn’t fit in your own car: bike, rowboat, dresser, bathtub, washing machine, cottage gear, IKEA pickups. Delivery of a single large item is exactly what shared transport is most cost-effective for.

How is it different from other delivery services?

Traditional removal companies and couriers charge a fixed price and run a dedicated trip for you. On Rubber Wheels the driver is already heading your way — you only pay a small add-on for their existing route. That’s the basic idea of shared transport and the reason for the lower price.

Can I drive myself?

Yes — if you have a trailer, van or roomy passenger car and regularly drive longer routes, you can earn by transporting other people’s items from your route. Typical earnings €50–200 per delivery.
